Our high performing, Dispute Resolution and Litigation team in Sydney is growing, and we are looking for a driven Senior Associate with strong commercial litigation experience to play a crucial role in our team.

The role is a general commercial disputes role with an emphasis on complex corporate and contractual disputes, regulatory investigations and high value family trust disputes in the superior courts across Australia.  This is an excellent career opportunity to work in a fast-paced but rewarding environment.

The team is hard-working, collaborative and high performing with strong and unique ongoing work as well as a pipeline of upcoming work.  This role offers you many opportunities to apply your technical and practical expertise to complex and challenging work and learn from highly experienced partners and senior litigators.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with partners and senior lawyers on litigation and dispute matters
  • Drafting pleadings, evidence, and written submissions for Court and tribunal proceedings, and emails, correspondence, opinions, and advice.
  • Assisting with the preparation and management of files
  • Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents
  • Managing the discovery process including collecting, reviewing, and organising documents and evidence
  • Attending court appearances and mediations

 

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 5+ years of post-admission general commercial litigation experience
  • Strong technical legal skills
  • Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients
  • Ability to effectively manage time, handle competing tasks, and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong drafting skills, particularly in drafting court documents and affidavits
  • Team player with a supportive and collaborative working style
