Are you passionate about technology, great service and modern ways of working? Do you want to be part of a national IT team that supports a professional services firm while actively driving adoption of AI and secure, modern workplace technology?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT Help Desk Officer to join our national IT Help Desk team. Based in Sydney, you will support colleagues across multiple offices around Australia, providing both in‑person and virtual support. This role offers exposure well beyond a traditional help desk, with hands‑on experience across modern workplace platforms, specialised legal technology, AI-enabled tools and cyber security.

The opportunity

As part of our national help desk, you will be a key point of contact for technology support across the firm. You will work closely with a specialised IT team that supports not only core workplace systems, but also a range of legal‑specific technology platforms that are critical to how our lawyers and business teams operate.

The firm is actively investing in AI-enabled legal and business tools, and this role will help support their adoption, day‑to‑day use and continuous improvement. At the same time, cyber security is critical to everything we do, and you will play an important role in maintaining secure access, compliant devices and best practice across the business.

Collaboration sits at the heart of our culture. Beyond the IT team, you will regularly work with Office Services and Front of House, People and Development, Business Development, and Knowledge teams to deliver practical, people‑focused IT solutions.

What you will be doing

Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include a wide variety of hands‑on and people‑focused tasks, including:

  • Providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support as part of a national help desk in a Microsoft 365 environment
  • Supporting users across multiple locations, both in person and via remote channels
  • Managing daily priorities and responding to urgent requests in a fast‑paced professional environment
  • Supporting end‑user technology including PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, applications and peripherals
  • Deploying and managing end‑user devices using Microsoft Autopilot and Windows Intune as part of a modern workplace environment
  • Supporting device compliance, security baselines and user access in line with cyber security best practice
  • Providing support for specialised legal technology tools, including practice management, document management, knowledge and AI‑enabled platforms
  • Assisting users with system access, troubleshooting and general “how do I” support across legal and business systems
  • Assisting with the setup, troubleshooting and ongoing management of video conferencing and meeting room technology
  • Managing users, computers and security permissions
  • Supporting the secure and responsible adoption of new technologies, including AI‑based tools
  • Ensuring the ongoing delivery, reliability and security of IT services
  • Staying up to date with emerging technology, legal tech and cyber security trends, and contributing ideas for continuous improvement

About you

You are service-oriented, curious about technology, and enjoy helping people work more effectively. You are interested in how technology supports professional services environments and understand the importance of security, reliability and user experience.

You will ideally bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in an IT Help Desk or IT support role, ideally within a professional services environment
  • An interest in legal technology, AI tools and modern workplace platforms
  • A strong customer service mindset with a focus on clear communication and timely resolution
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbal
  • A team-focused attitude, with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks
