The role

Due to our continued growth, Piper Alderman is seeking a talented Senior Associate - Special Counsel with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience to join our Commercial group. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial and property-related work nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate property agreements for commercial, rural, and residential contracts
  • Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions and sales
  • Advise clients on legal aspects of commercial real estate transactions
  • Development & strata titling, Body Corporate & Community Management advice
  • Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of property and commercial transactions
  • Mentor and coach junior employees

  To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 5+ years’ PQE with experience in commercial property
  • Strong understanding of property law, conveyancing, and lease agreements across commercial, residential, and rural sectors
  • Excellent contract drafting and analytic thinking
  • Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time, handle competing tasks, and work to tight deadlines
  • Team player with a supportive and collaborative working style
  • Self-motivated with a "can-do" attitude and eagerness to learn and grow your career with Piper Alderman
