The role

We are seeking an ambitious, high-performing Associate to join our team at Piper Alderman. This role affords the successful candidate the opportunity to grow and develop under the mentorship of industry leaders in Property law, Marcus Andrews and Richard Abbott. Marcus and Richard lead by example with a strong commitment to client excellence and a broad range of clients in many sectors.

Working collaboratively across two Partners, this role is diverse in nature, meaning your average day will provide you with the variety required to continue to grow and develop as a Property professional under close mentorship. Your role will support sales and purchases of commercial property, commercial, industrial and retail leasing work with a focus on the child care industry, drafting and negotiating contracts, property finance transactions, strata matters and Government work.

To succeed in this role you will ideally have;

  • 3+ years legal experience with demonstrable experience in commercial real estate area and exposure to leasing work
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of property law (ability to manage PEXA transactions), excellent drafting skills and strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A well developed commercial acumen
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a high performing team environment whilst also autonomously at times
  • A self-motivated and “can-do” attitude with an eagerness to grow your career with Piper Alderman
