The role

JOIN OUR TEAM | Piper Alderman is seeking a talented 2–4 year Lawyer to join our growing Real Estate practice in our Perth office. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and high-quality commercial property matters while developing your career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

As part of our Real Estate team, you will work closely with experienced Partners Catherine Wheeler and Simon Taskunas, gaining exposure to sophisticated clients and a diverse range of matters, including property transactions, renewable energy projects and property development.

About you 

Key Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-quality real estate matters, for our private and public sector clients, including:

  • Commercial property transactions and advisory work
  • Acquisitions, disposals and leasing across a broad range of sectors, including industrial, commercial, agricultural, mining, renewable energy, residential, aged care and retail
  • Capital transactions and property investment matters
  • Property development transactions, development agreements, joint ventures and other complex property arrangements

We value giving back to the community. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in pro bono matters alongside your commercial practice, gaining broader legal experience while supporting clients who need our assistance.

  To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 2-4 years post-admission experience (PAE) in property advisory and transaction work in Western Australia. 
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong client service skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver high-quality legal advice.
  • Strong critical thinking and legal analysis skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and not rely solely on technology, including AI tools, when preparing advice and documents.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Partners and the broader team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, drafting skills, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
