We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Corporate Lawyer to join our Corporate group. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to receive comprehensive training and development to build a successful career in this area of law. 

You’ll be exposed to a range of interesting projects and clients and, in addition to working with Josh, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other reputable practitioners within our National Corporate team.

This role will afford you with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, whilst providing plenty of opportunities to work closely with partners and to mentor junior members of the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with partners and senior lawyers on commercial contracts and agreements
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on corporate matters
  • Support the group in client consultations and preparation for meetings
  • Participate in due diligence and other transactional activities

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 1-3 years of post-admission corporate experience
  • Experience with joint ventures, asset and company acquisitions and disposals, capital raisings for both listed and unlisted clients and a firm understanding of the Corporations Act, ASX Listing Rules and general corporate compliance
  • Experience in the energy and resources sectors will be advantageous
  • Commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients
  • Ability to effectively manage time, handle competing tasks, and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with a supportive and collaborative working style

Josh has been consistently recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific across a number of categories in the areas of energy and natural resources.

Josh is a corporate and commercial lawyer, working with medium size growth companies, focussing on the Energy & Resources and Technology sectors. He regularly assists clients with capital raisings, share and asset acquisitions and disposals throughout Australia, directors' duties, farm-in and joint ventures, shareholder and boardroom disputes, as-well as providing general contract and commercial advice. Josh was recommended in The Legal 500 for his expertise in Energy (transactions and regulatory) and Natural resources (transactions and regulatory) in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
