Junior Legal Assistant
Kick‑start your career in a national law firm.
We are looking for a proactive Junior Legal Assistant to support our experienced Legal Assistants and legal practitioners in our Sydney office. You will help keep matters moving, documents in order and the team organised and you will provide cover when our admin assistants are on leave.
You will work across the practice supporting day‑to‑day operations, including:
General administration
- Collect and distribute mail; collect deliveries from reception; undertake CBD rounds for deliveries
- Answer phones and triage enquiries professionally
- Arrange appointments; book internal meeting rooms; organise client meetings/lunches (as required)
- Scan, photocopy and prepare facsimiles; maintain a tidy work area
- Prepare purchase requisitions and disbursement forms; liaise with clients when required
Filing & matter management
- Open/close files, run conflict searches and prepare terms of engagement and related paperwork
- Maintain hard‑copy and electronic filing daily across the group
- Prepare box inventories and closed‑file lists; dispatch to storage (TIMG) and retrieve files on request
Time entry & billing
- Perform conflict, ASIC and property searches prior to file opening
- Assist with briefs to counsel; compile lists of documents; paginate and folder materials; obtain transcripts
- Enter time via Intapp on behalf of fee earners and your own daily entries
- Prepare bill cover letters and send/post on behalf of fee earners; support monthly billing processes
