Associate (Restructuring & Insolvency)

  • Sydney
  • Legal
  • Restructuring & Insolvency
  • Full time

This is not just another Associate role. Join one of the most respected Restructuring & Insolvency practices in a team where the culture is as impressive as the work itself. This is a rare opportunity for a talented Associate to take the next step in their career — in a team that’s high-performing, close-knit and genuinely invested in your development.

Led by Thomas Russell, a market-leading practitioner known for his deep expertise and unwavering support of his team, the group works across a diverse portfolio of restructuring, insolvency and PPSA matters. You'll advise and represent a range of clients, including administrators, liquidators, receivers and company directors, often on matters that go head-to-head with top-tier firms.

Why this role stands out:

  • Unmatched team culture – supportive, collaborative and down-to-earth
  • High-quality, high-impact work with career-defining matters
  • Strong mentorship from a Partner who truly invests in your success
  • Clear progression pathway and real responsibility from day one

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 4 PQE in commercial litigation, with a desire to deepen your expertise in restructuring and insolvency
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills, commercial judgment and client focus
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Confidence and curiosity to take on technically complex matters

You will thrive here if you’re looking for more than just great work — you’re looking for a team where your voice is heard, your growth is supported and your success is shared.
