National Events Advisor
Business Development & Marketing Team
- Adelaide based role
- National firm
- Lead delivery of premium client events and webinar programs
Why this role is different
This is not a purely administrative or coordination-focused role. The Events Executive is a critical national role responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Piper Alderman’s events program, including in-person events, hybrid events and webinar series.
You will take ownership of event execution across the firm, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery that enhances the firm’s brand, supports client engagement and enables partners to focus on building relationships and generating work.
This role is designed to remove operational delivery pressure from senior BD, Brand & Communications and Digital roles, allowing those functions to operate more strategically, while you lead the execution of events as a specialised capability.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Business Development & Marketing, this role offers responsibility across:
- National event delivery (in-person, hybrid and virtual)
- Firmwide webinar programming and execution
- Coordination with office services teams in each location
- Supporting high-value client engagement initiatives and sponsorship activations
This is a highly visible position with direct interaction with partners and senior stakeholders across all offices.
What you will be doing
National events & client engagement
- Take full ownership of the delivery of all firmwide events, including:
- client seminars and briefings
- sponsorship events
- partner-led client functions
- flagship client events (e.g. Sydney Client Drinks, Brisbane Client Drinks)
- Manage event logistics end-to-end:
- venue coordination and supplier management
- invitations, RSVP tracking and guest lists
- seating plans and on-the-day execution
- post-event follow-up and reporting
- Work closely with BD leads to ensure events are strategically aligned to BD objectives and client outcomes.
Webinar programming (ON24)
- Lead the planning and coordination of the firm’s national webinar series
- Manage all webinar logistics, including:
- scheduling and timelines
- speaker coordination and briefing
- rehearsal sessions and technical setup
- live delivery and troubleshooting
- Ensure webinars are delivered to a consistently high standard, enabling partners to focus on content delivery rather than logistics.
Collaboration with office services and internal stakeholders
- Work closely with Office Services teams in each office to coordinate:
- catering
- room setup
- signage and equipment
- on-the-ground logistics
- Act as the central point of coordination between BD, partners, office services and external suppliers
- Support a nationally consistent approach to event delivery across all offices.
Continuous improvement & reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve event processes, systems and delivery methods
- Support the optimisation of tools such as Concep/Eventogy, ON24 and event platforms
- Track and report on attendance, engagement and key outcomes to support BD insight and ROI measurement.
About you
You will be well suited to this role if you:
- Have experience in events management, marketing or business development, ideally within a professional services environment
- Are highly organised and confident managing multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
- Have strong stakeholder management skills and are comfortable working with partners and senior professionals
- Are detail-oriented, proactive and calm under pressure
- Have experience with (or are comfortable learning):
- EDM systems (e.g. Eventogy)
- webinar platforms (e.g. ON24)
- CRM systems and event data management
- Enjoy taking ownership and are motivated by delivering high-quality, client-facing outcomes.
Key impact of the role
This role is critical to:
- Ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery of all client-facing events
- Enabling partners and lawyers to focus on billable work and client relationships
- Allowing senior BD, Brand and Digital roles to operate more strategically
- Supporting the firm’s vision to deliver responsive, commercially decisive, expert advice through professional and well-executed client engagement.

You will join a high-performing national BD & Marketing team that is collaborative, down-to-earth and well respected across the firm. The team works closely across offices and values:
- accountability
- professionalism
- strong relationships
- continuous improvement.
