The role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, organised, and proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility and excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will be able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with ease, while maintaining a high level of accuracy in all aspects of their work. With strong experience in billing, matter administration, or accounting is a plus, but a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly will set you up for success!

With no two days the same, the tasks you will be responsible for are:

  • Billing & Matter Administration: Overseeing monthly billing processes, scanning and processing receipts as well as the opening and closing of matters.
  • Matter Management: Coordinating the team’s workload to ensure deadlines are met and tasks are completed on time.
  • Time Entries & Expense Reconciliation: Handling time entries, reconciling expenses, processing third-party invoices, and providing regular reporting.
  • Internal Accounts Communication: Collaborating with internal accounts teams to manage trust allocations, trust-to-office payments, and addressing bill reversals or credit notes.
  • Cost Consultant Support: Compiling invoices and spreadsheets for cost consultants to facilitate accurate and timely reporting.
  • Document Preparation: Drafting letters, contracts, and general correspondence with attention to detail.
  • Administrative Duties: Providing general administrative support, including document management, travel arrangements, processing of credit card transactions and filing (both hard and soft copy).

About you

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience in providing admin support within a commercial disputes and litigation team.
  • Finance experience with end of month billing, funds manager accounts and financial matter management from an admin perspective.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with legal staff and clients.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • A team player who loves to bring their positive personality to the office!

Our high performing, collegiate Dispute Resolution and Litigation team in Brisbane is looking for a driven individual with commercial litigation experience to play a senior role in our team. This practice group has been described in The Legal 500 Asia as "A top performer in the corporate and commercial litigation space" with supervising Partners for this role being recognised in Best Lawyers in Australia, 2025 edition.  Our reputation and growth in this area has been built on our proven ability to resolve large-scale, complex commercial litigation disputes, whether via court judgment or otherwise.
