A little about our team

Our national Employment Relations team is led by Partners nationally across the firm, a focus on collaboration and shared knowledge ensures you feel supported in your development and matter experience.  You will be mentored by two industry recognised experts, Erin McCarthy and Emily Haar who have each been recognised in Best Lawyers in Labour and Employment law, Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Employment Lawyers and Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

 An average day

Here is the great part, your average day is going to provide you the diversity you are seeking as an Employment Relations professional. Your role will be to work directly with Partners, Special Counsel and clients on matters including contractual and advisory work, industrial disputes, unfair dismissals, discrimination claims, general protections claims, work health and safety matters and the interpretation of awards and agreements, including in the context of payroll compliance.  With a mix of litigation and advisory work you will have the ability to work closely with clients, counsel and other teams within the firm.  In addition to the legal work you will be an active participant in delivering on an exceptional client service through presentations, webinars, podcasts, articles and so much more!  

What are we looking for?

  • Admitted with 3+ years PQE
  • Experience in Employment relations with commitment to ER specialisation
  • Someone who is a lateral thinker with a strong analytical ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in excel and data analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn
  • Team player
